At Soteira Consulting, we work at the intersection of functional safety, systems thinking, and human factors, supporting organisations to move beyond compliance toward safety that is robust, ethical, and effective in the real world. Our approach recognises that technical rigour and human decision-making are inseparable, and that sustainable safety is built through thoughtful design, clear governance, and respect for the complexity of modern socio-technical systems.

We work with organisations of all sizes, from early-stage and growing enterprises through to complex, multi-national operations, supporting safety-critical work across the full system lifecycle. Our experience includes industries such as machinery, rail, automotive, and aerospace, where robust functional safety, clear system governance, and lifecycle assurance are essential to both performance and protection.

We engage with organisations in a pragmatic and collaborative way across four complementary areas: consulting, contracting, training, and independent assurance. This allows us to support safety-critical work in a way that is both principled and practical. Our work is tailored to context — from supporting early design decisions and advising on strategy and system design, to delivering hands-on technical work, building internal capability through training, and providing clear, independent assurance where confidence and challenge are essential.

Why Soteira?

The name Soteira is derived from the Greek concept of safeguarding and preservation. It reflects our belief that safety is not simply about compliance, but about the thoughtful design and stewardship of systems that protect people over time.
