Training
Capability-building training that strengthens how people think about safety, reliability, and judgment in practice.
We provide training to build and strengthen capability in functional safety, systems thinking, reliability, and human factors within safety-critical contexts.
Our training is designed to support meaningful understanding, not just awareness. We focus on helping people understand how safety and reliability work in practice — how decisions are made, how systems behave over time, and how human judgement interacts with technical controls and performance assumptions in real operational settings.
Training can be tailored to different roles and levels within an organisation, from senior leaders and decision-makers to engineers and practitioners. Sessions are grounded in real-world examples drawn from safety-critical environments and are designed to encourage thoughtful discussion, reflection, and practical application, rather than rote compliance.
Our training draws on experience across rail, machinery and industrial equipment, mining, automotive, and aerospace contexts. It includes consideration of reliability, availability, maintainability, product liability, and accountability as part of responsible system design, assurance, and decision-making across the system lifecycle.
Training topics may include:
- Functional and systems safety fundamentals
- Systems thinking for safety and reliability
- Reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) concepts for safety-critical systems
- Safety governance and leadership
- Human factors and human performance in complex systems
- Safety and reliability decision-making under uncertainty
- Integrating safety and RAM considerations across the system lifecycle
- Understanding and effective use of hazard, risk, and reliability analysis techniques
- Product liability considerations in safety-critical system design and decision-making
Delivery formats:
Training can be delivered as short workshops, facilitated discussions, or deeper capability-building sessions aligned to organisational needs.
